A Formula for Riches

What is rich?  Of course, the answer is different for each person.  To some, “rich” is money; to others, it is health or success; for many of us, “rich” is love or being loved.  There are many people who are rich in money but poor in humanity.  Whatever your idea of rich is, the formula for reaching it is always the same.  Follow it and the world can be yours!

  • Believe that it is okay to want more.  Many people feel unworthy or even guilty about wanting more than they have.  There is no greed in this if the “want” is for the right purpose.  Wanting to be financially rich so that I can flaunt my wealth is a bad reason.  Wanting to be financially rich so that I can help others or to gain personal freedom from financial problems are worthy reasons.  Know the “why” and the “how” will come!
  • The next step is believing you do not have to compete with or deprive anyone on your way to success.  The best competition is against yourself.  It is not difficult to help others along the path to riches!  It is always better to “create” than to compete!
  • Always give more to everyone than you take.  This sounds crazy in today’s dog-eat-dog world, but the success of this idea has never really changed.  If I give more to my clients than I take from them, I win.  They will become a customer for life.  If I give more to my spouse or loved ones than I take, the relationships grow in abundance.  This is a simple truth of the world and one of the most powerful!
  • Always give your best effort!  There is a satisfaction that comes with knowing that every ounce of courage and strength was left on the field when the event is done.  You can sleep well when you have done your best!
  • Reward with abundance those who helped you along the way.  They deserve your thanks and will always be there for you when the need arises.  Whether a thoughtful word, gift, or letter of appreciation, this kind of acknowledgement is a special treasure worth more than gold!
  • Never forget your vision!  Keep the dream in your mind every day, and the riches that are most important will be yours in abundance.  Never give up!

Logan Pearsall Smith once said, “There are two things to aim at in life: first, to get what you want; and after that, to enjoy it.  Only the wisest of mankind achieve the second.”  Follow this formula throughout your life and you will enjoy the true riches of an abundant world!
